Mixed Media Paintings
My background is in the socio-politically conscious tradition of printmaking, and I combine printmaking techniques with painting and collage to make vibrant, multi-layered mixed media compositions. I am a story-teller and consider my artistic practice to be a vehicle for processing, healing, and understanding. I am interested in how larger social and political phenomena land in the body, and how we exist as simultaneously corporeal and spiritual beings in a vast and interconnected world. My work is at once biographical and metaphorical – offering a shared experience that empowers the viewer to question who we are outside of what we have been told.
